Biography

Bantu MC's is a pioneering Kenyan independent hip-hop and Afro-rap duo shaking up the regional urban music scene. As the architects of Taarab Trap, the duo has pioneered a revolutionary sound—seamlessly weaving the hypnotic, melodic strings and poetic depth of traditional coastal Swahili Taarab music with the punishing, heavy basslines of modern 808 trap production.

Representing their autonomous music imprint and creative collective, 808 Coastal, their tracks serve as authentic street anthems capturing both intense urban struggles and the cultural distinctiveness of the Kenyan coastline. Known for high-octane stage energy, they continue to bridge underground hip-hop core styles with global sonic trends while preserving regional heritage.
